Transport for Wales

Transport for Wales (TfW) required a fully bespoke ticketing solution across multiple platforms to replace its existing white-label product, which offered limited flexibility for customisation and future development. The new solution needed a flexible, scalable design system and technology stack that would support ongoing iterations and the introduction of new functionality, aligning with TfW's long-term vision of a fully integrated digital ticketing system that includes trains, trams, and buses.
Working within the established brand guidelines, I developed a scalable design system that ensured visual consistency across multiple platforms while meeting Welsh language standards and WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility requirements. I also designed flows for new features such as adding favourite journeys, service alerts, ticket wallet for standalone and season tickets as well as digital payment options such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.
Alongside the design work, I carried out QA testing by identifying UI inconsistencies and logging issues in Jira, manually testing native builds in Xcode and Android Studio, and managing TestFlight releases to enable client testing and feedback.
